Eye problems from Dengue fever what to do ?

A significant number of people have been infected with dengue fever this year.  Many of them also suffer from dengue-related eye problems.  Dengue can lead to various types of eye complications.  Some complications can be long-term.  It can even reduce vision.

 Bleeding within the eye:

One complication of dengue fever is the formation of complications such as hemorrhage or platelets in the blood, and bleeding in various parts of the body.  This bleeding can occur in the retina, either inside the eye or in the back.

Small, large, acute, mild - can cause bleeding in different doses.  This is not generally understood.  However, the eye specialist can diagnose the problem by examining.  Five to seven days of fever is more likely to occur.

Maculopathy

The central area of the retina is known as the macula.  This area is extremely touchy.  The exact cause is unknown, but it is believed that the complications of the immune system may lead to maculopathy or foveolitis or inflammation of the back of the eye.

This may result in vision problems.  This problem can be resolved on its own, and in the long run.

 Eye pain, eyes red

Theonset of fever, like other virus fever, can also cause back pain, discomfort and pain in the eyes, discomfort to look at the light, red eyes etc.  There is nothing to fear.  Within two or three days, the cure itself.

 Other complications

Denguemay also cause complications such as UVITs (inflammation of the eye), central retinal vein occlusion, panophthalmitis, neurological problems, sub-hyaloid hemorrhage.

 What to do ?

 ■ From the first day of the fever, no eye pain, red eyes or discomfort and itching in the eyes are needed.  Paracetamol alone is sufficient for pain.  Have to drink lots of water.  The symptoms usually subside within two to three days.

 ■ After four days, if the eye pain, blurred vision, discomfort, etc., the ophthalmologist should be consulted.

 ■ Every dengue patient, especially those who have platelet degeneration, it is best to have an eye examination once every seven days for fever.  Because, at this time, maculopathy, foveolitis or UVITS-type inflammation occurs.  In addition, any time you lose sight or start to look blurred, you need to seek immediate shelter.

 ■ If the platelet is lowered to dangerous levels, it can cause bleeding in the eye like in other areas of the body.  So be sure to show your eyes.

 ■ Most eye problems with dengue are short-lived.  However, in some cases it may be long term, vision loss.  Therefore, the ophthalmologist should seek medical attention.
